In order to enter games into GARI in a uniform fashion,
use the entry points sparingly.
Golden rule is, if you cannot choose between items in the entry points (ie. if one is as relevant as another) then
don't use that enty point.
Remember: be objective, don't enter a game under just the category
that you use it for, when choosing an entry point it must have outstanding
properties in that area as opposed to any other areas in that category.
Eg. If you have a game which is particularly well suited for 12+ students,
then you might choose to enter it under No. of students:12+. However
this would also disqualify the game from all other categories
- 1-3 students
- 4-12 students
- any number of students
Maybe you have a version of the game that is suitable for a wide variety
of students and another version which is more suitable for 12+. If
so, you could enter the first game with option as flexible under name
MegaMap and the second version as 12+ under the name MegaMap.v2. This
makes it easier for users to pinpoint specific games in their searches.
Remember: if in doubt, leave it out ... don't enter a game option
if its not immediately obvious
You can use the shortened versions of popular words if you wish eg.
Tr for teacher, S for students, but it's not mandatory.
Help: the help option is used for your best games, ones can help enormously
in one of the common problem areas listed.
Don't worry about entering a game which may already be in the database
in one form or another. It is likely that you have a slightly different
version of the game than someone else, or that you consider the game
to have outstanding properties in different area's than someone else
does. If exact duplication occurs, send us an email we will remove
a copy.
Also, if you think a game is badly described or illegible and you
think you can do better. Just enter your version of the game under
the same name or some derivation of the name (eg. for survivor, enter
survivor1) and then email us and we'll switch if we think your version
is an improvement.
